Open the event switcher (top of the sidebar) or My events and choose New event. Pick what you are celebrating (wedding, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, upsherin, brit, pidyon haben, sheva brachos or other), the Event name, the Date (the Hebrew date appears as soon as you pick it), where the simcha is, and the time zone. Then press "Continue to choose a plan".
